    什么是美式或北美学校课程体系?

     

           一个标准的美国课程将围绕着数学、科学、社会科学和英语/英语语言艺术四个核心学科展开。同时,再以一些其他科目和课外活动作为辅助教学,以充分满足学生的学习需求和激发学生学习兴趣。所以,这个课程体系实是为全面教育奠定了基础,有利于培养全面发展的学生,一个能够掌握足够的技能和知识,在这个数学化及全球化时代取得成功的学生!

      These texts and styles will serve as models for students’ own writing.Through this study of new words,

      phrases and style the students willgradually transition from reading to writing a variety of texts,

      particularlyparagraphs and essays. Additionally, the extended reading is necessary todevelop their

      abilities on independent reading and cultivate their readingskills so that they can successfully read

      grade classrooms and can be used ineither middle school or high school. CS Discoveries introduces students

      to tools and programming languages that are accessible for beginners whileoffering more advanced students opportunities to create sophisticatedprojects. Using our existing App Lab programming environment and our

      new programming environment, Game Lab, students will be able to transition fromblocks to typed code at their

      own pace while learning JavaScript.

      Grade 8 integrated science provides students with the necessaryknowledge and skills in integrated Science.  The

      This course is designed to build on algebraic and geometricconcepts.  It develops advanced algebra skills such

      as systems ofequations, advanced polynomials, imaginary and complex numbers, quadratics,and concepts

      and includes the study of trigonometric functions.  It alsointroduces matrices and their properties. 

      The content of this courseare important for students’ success on both the ACT and college mathematics
      entrance exams.  Students who complete Algebra II should takePre-Calculus next.

    什么是对学生成绩的过程性管理?

     

          为了帮助学生在学术成绩方面有所提升,成都协同学校更加注重学生在学习过程中的进步。很多学校与家长会以期末考试来衡量学生的学术成绩,如果每次我们都是等到以考试成绩来告诉我们孩子的不足与弱项,那时候进行补救已经为时已晚。所以,我们认为加强对学生过程性成绩的监督与管理,提早发现问题,才能帮助学生解决问题,进一步提高学术水平。

    如图所示,成都协同学校依据学生学习行为的不同,将评分体系分为六个板块,每个板块根据学科特色给予不同的比值。老师在结束一堂课的授课之后,将会对学生进行一个全方位的评价。

     

     

                                                               

     

     

     

     

    如何实现对学生成绩的过程性管理?

     

     

    板块一:测试(Test)

     

           我们的测试板块包括阶段性测试以及单元测试。一学期的测试次数约为15次。也就是说学生成绩不再以一两次期末考试来决定,而是一学期内,通过自己一步一步的努力与提升来决定的。我们更愿意让学生及时发现自己的不足,在下一次测试中有所进步,经过一学期的积累,从而得到一个好成绩。

     

     

    板块二:随堂测试(Quizzes)

     

           随堂测试指老师利用正式上课前5分钟,对学生进行一个知识检测。英语语言课程会侧重于检查学生词汇板块的积累情况,而理科课程也会侧重于检查学生对学科词汇的一个掌握情况。旨在督促学生并及时发现学生的学习问题。

     

     

    板块三与板块四:家庭作业(Homework)&课堂练习(Classwork

     

           老师在每堂课结束之后,会对学生的家庭作业以及课堂练习进行一个评分,旨在提醒学生课后回顾与练习的重要性,并督促与鼓励学生进行课堂回顾与反思。

     

     

    板块五:课堂参与度(Class participation)

     

           课堂参与度包含出勤(attendance),课堂参与(participation),以及课前准备(class preparation)三个方面。以此来规范学生的课堂行为,提高学生们的学习效率与课堂效率。

     

     

    板块六:项目学习(Projects

     

           项目学习是指老师在某一特定主题的教学中,围绕该主题组织学生进行活动。如制作主题海报、发表主题演讲、进行实验以及校外学科探索活动等等。老师将根据其布置的主题任务的完成情况为学生进行评分。

     

     

     

                                                                 

               

                                    特别需要说明的是,每个板块占总成绩的百分比并不是平均分配的。我们会参考每个学习行为的重要性与发生次数来设定不同的比例。如上图。

     

     

           另外,在老师每日更新学生成绩的同时,我们的班主任、家长甚至学生自己都可以随时在线查看各学科的分数以及明细,全方面多角度地显示学生的学术成绩进程。在这个过程中,我们能够及时地发现学生学习存在的问题,并帮助学生解决问题,从而达到对学生成绩进行过程性管理的目的。

  • 成都协同英语教学

     

     

     

           研究表明,在美式国际学校,学生的英语水平是影响他们未来学术成功的最重要的因素,对于他们能否成功申请大学,能否在大学环境中取得成功也是至关重要的。近年来,在外的中国留学生中,有相当一大部分学生由因语言能力和学术水平准备不充分,而导致学业失败或无法毕业。有太多的中国学生仅仅只以备考托福或雅思为主的方式来为未来的海外留学做准备。而事实上,这条路并不是一条通往成功的捷径,而是一次又一次地被证明是通往失败的捷径。基于此点,成都协同学校极其重视英语能力的培养,我们会利用多种学习工具来检测学生的语言水平,培养学生的各种能力,并追踪其进步情况。我校所开设的课程和应用的教学工具能够学生积累夯实的英语基础,有了夯实的英语基础,他们便能从容地应对考试,以至于最后进入大学并在大学获得成功。

     

    • IEP项目:   EP项目是协同针对接受国际学校教育的低龄段学生研发的英语强化项目。这个项目旨在系统全面地提升学生的英语听说读写综合能力,使学生在2-3年内能够达到美国高中入学的英语水平。IEP项目采用分层教学的模式,使用精选原版教材进行科学分级设置,以学生的英语水平作为分级的标准。学生每天通过大量的听说读写训练,英语综合能力逐步提升。随着学生英语能力的不断提升,数学、科学和人文等核心课程从双语教学逐步过渡到全英文教学,最终学生的英语语言能力和学术能力都能达到美国优质高中的入学水平。

    • 环球航行阅读项目:    阅读能力一直以来被视作决定学生学术成功的一项最重要的技能,它可以激发学生的学习兴趣,拓宽学生的知识层面。除此之外,英语阅读更是语言学习不可忽视的一个部分。通过自主阅读,学生不仅能提高自己的英语水平,还能培养自身独立学习的良好习惯,培养批判思维能力,理解能力,还能锻炼学生的终身学习能力。由此,成都协同学校尤其重视学生阅读能力的发展。我校的阅读项目是一个多元化的辅导项目,涵盖了丰富多样的线上阅读材料和线下阅读资源,以此锻炼学生的阅读理解能力和阅读技巧。学生的阅读训练从课堂阅读开始,再通过线上阅读项目-环球航行阅读计划进行练习,使阅读水平得以巩固与提高。Around World Reading Project是我校主要研发的一项带有奖励机制的主题性线上阅读项目。该项目所用阅读素材来源与美国经典分级读物Reading A-Z(Raz),该教材也被北美乃至世界的一些顶尖国际学校所采用。 Reading A-Z最大的优势便是按阅读难度分为27个级别,分别是对应幼儿园阶段的AA—C;对应美国小学一年级的D—J;对应美国小学二年级的K—P;对应美国小学三年级的Q—T;对应美国小学四年级的U—W;对应美国小学五六年级的X—Z。待学生完成27个级别之后,核心词汇量达到5300,达到国内大学生六级英语阅读水平。

           学生在开始进行此项目之前,将会进行阅读水平测试,得出符合他自身语言水平的阅读等级。再以该等级为原始等级,进行阅读练习。阅读的主要形式为自主阅读,通过自主在电脑上进行文章阅览,录音,完成习题这一主要步骤,达到培养自主学习能力,提高学生英语阅读水平的目的。我们专门为学生提供配套的词汇卡,让学生的词汇量也能得到同步的积累。另外,阅读系统后台将同步记录学生的阅读情况,且作为后期追踪分析学生阅读水平进步情况的可靠数据之一。由此,在学生进行阅读训练的同时,我们能够有效的掌握学生的阅读情况,及时为每一个学生制定适合他的阅读计划。

           除了线上阅读项目,课堂阅读也是我校培养学生阅读能力的一个重要组成部分。课堂阅读主要分为文学阅读与学术阅读两大模块。文学阅读课选自与美国加州本土教材,让学生通过大量的英文文学性文章的阅读学习,提高学生的综合阅读理解能力。该课程遵照美国核心课程标准,为学生未来参加美国大学入学考试取得优异成绩打下坚实基础。另一方面,学科阅读也采用美国加州教材,阅读内容丰富多样,涉及到生物,地理,物理,化学等学科知识。补充学科知识词汇,了解自然科学,为全英文的科学课学习打下基础。

    成都协同的在线阅读课程难度适用于从幼儿至高中各年龄阶段的学生。阅读有利于锻炼学生的托福,SAT等其他大学入学相关考试所考察的英语能力。同时,老师也会协助学生解答阅读中出现的问题,以便更有效的帮助学生提升自己的阅读能力。

     

     

    • WIDA 测试体系:    如果说入学测试仅是测量学生的初级或中级英语水平的话,那么WIDA体系便是我们用来测量本校学生,在入读成都协同之后,自身的英语水平所得到的提升与发展。在世界上,WIDA测试体系被广泛用于测试中小学生的英语水平,而现如今在美国,有39个州都采用WIDA体系来测试中小学生的英语水平。在北美乃至整个世界,有数以万计的中小学生采用WIDA体系来测试自己的英语水平,协同学子一年将参加两次WIDA测试,测试他们自身的英语水平。该考试涵盖了社会,教学语言及学科英语语言等内容,如下图所示:

    • 词汇项目:    成都协同词汇项目不仅注重一般学术词汇的学习,也注重学生学科词汇的学习(如科学,历史等学科词汇)。词汇学习是由几个不同的项目组成。入学考试和WIDA测试测量学生的综合英语能力,这样有利于学校了解学生的总体水平。学校再根据学生的能力水平,安排学生进入适合他的年级学习,选择适合他的教学材料。为了更进一步测量学生的词汇水平,学校将用国际词汇测试来测试他们的词汇量。我校的词汇量测试是由一位致力于英语词汇领域研究的优秀学者发展而来的。该项测试不仅可用于测试英语母语的学生的词汇量,亦可用于测试英语非母语学生的词汇量。综合测试结果,我们可以向学生推荐适合他的阅读材料和单词学习方法。成都协同词汇学习项目已涵盖了4000个最常用的学术词汇。同时,我校还提供线上教科材料,逐步帮助学生扩充他们的词汇量。对于词汇量已达到我校词汇训练项目要求的学生,将会开始独立学习高阶词汇项目。为了辅助学生在学科词汇方面的学习,学校为他们提供一系列线上单词学习项目,无论是在学校,在家里,亦或是在外出旅行途中用手机,平板电脑,都可以进行单词练习。

    • 阅读项目:    我校的阅读项目是一个多元化的辅导项目,涵盖了丰富多样的线上阅读材料和线下阅读工具,以此锻炼学生的阅读理解能力和阅读技巧。学生的阅读训练从课堂阅读开始。课堂阅读选用的材料都是取自美国三大学术出版商。这些材料也被北美乃至世界的一些顶尖国际学校所采用。阅读能力一直视作决定学生学术成功的一项最重要的技能。因此,我校的阅读项目将分为三个不同的阶层为学生提供学术支持,让他们无论在课堂上还是自主学习时都能进行阅读练习。

           成都协同选用高质量的英语教学材料,遵循以研究为基础的实践。无论是课堂上还是课后自主学习,协同以丰富的线上和图书馆资源来辅助核心课程的实施,对于阅读能力较低的同学,我们使用两种语音教学项目包括课本和在线资源来帮助学生建立对听力、词根、前缀和后缀的识别能力。同时,我们还提供与学生个人阅读水平所匹配的阅读资源。这些资源可供学生线上线下同时使用,以便同学们可以独立学习,提高自身的阅读能力。阅读能力的提高不仅有利于提高语法,拼写及写作能力,还能锻炼同学们的终身学习能力。

           通过我校的两个线上阅读平台,学生可以根据自身的莱克赛尔分数(一个对书籍的阅读难度进行评分的体系)去阅读不同文体的文章(小说和非小说)。对于在北美出版的书籍有会有一个莱克赛尔分数,所以,当学生知道自己的莱克赛尔水平后,他们可以选择自由选择阅读那些难度略高于目前自身阅读水平的读物,而不是选择了一本不适合自身阅读水平的书籍,比如,一些对阅读能力要求极高的经典名著。

           成都协同的核心在线阅读课程难度适用于从幼儿至高中各年龄阶段的学生。阅读有利于锻炼学生的托福,SAT等其他大学入学相关考试所考察的英语能力。同时,老师也会参与该项阅读项目,以便让学生清楚的认识到自己能力的不足。通过此阅读训练,当学生的阅读能力有所进步,达到该辅导项目的要求后,学校会将学生过渡到更适合自身的高阶阅读训练项目中去。

           成都协同也将为高年级学生提供相应的辅导材料和指导,为他们的托福、SAT和其他大学入学相关考试做准备。当然,相关辅导会围绕学生个人能力而展开,旨在让学生能够以最有效的方式取得进步。

           成都协同学校所开展的知识性的课程项目,综合了系统化的词汇学习和阅读训练,并由世界一流的能力测试程序给予支持,确保学生能够在我校得到最好的学习机会。最重要的是,我校的课程设置,学习计划和教学工具不仅能够帮助学生培养知识与技能,还能使他们不单单能够在托福考试中取得成功,而且更重要的是能够在海外大学学习中获得成功。
